In a deeply symbolic ceremony rooted in community, purpose, and pride, the two newest National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions ships in the Galápagos fleet were officially named—National Geographic Delfina and National Geographic Gemini.

The dual naming ceremony took place in the heart of the Galápagos archipelago—Academy Bay—where members of the shipboard teams, Lindblad Expeditions leadership, guests, local dignitaries, and multigenerational Galápagos community members gathered to witness the ceremonial christening of the ships.

In 1967, Lindblad Expeditions led the first-ever non-scientific international civilian expedition to the Galápagos and has been partnering closely with the community and the National Park ever since. For nearly 60 years, this close connection with the local community and governing bodies has been integral to the Company’s story, which has supported more than 100 environmental- and community-focused projects in the region.

National Geographic Delfina is a sleek, contemporary 98-foot luxury catamaran designed for immersive, small-group exploration and perfect for families and affinity groups. Accommodating just 16 guests in eight well-appointed staterooms—half with private balconies—the ship offers an intimate, comfortable onboard experience. Equipped with a fleet of Zodiacs, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and snorkeling gear, and other tools for exploration, and featuring a dedicated Ecuadorian and Galapagueño crew, National Geographic Gemini delivers an authentic and enriching Galápagos experience nearly 60 years in the making.

Five, six, seven, eight: “Bless my soul, Herc is on a roll!” 

That’s right, “Disney Hercules,” the brand-new, Broadway-style Disney Cruise Line stage show, is indeed on a roll, preparing to raise the curtain exclusively onboard the Disney Destiny. But before the ship launches this November, the cast are hard at work at Disney Cruise Line’s Toronto-based entertainment rehearsal facility, where every show – from a deck party to a Broadway-style musical spectacular – comes to life before being performed on any ship in Disney Cruise Line’s growing fleet. 

While in Toronto, the Disney Destiny entertainment team is preparing for three shows in The Walt Disney Theatre: “Disney Seas the Adventure,” “Frozen: A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Hercules.” 

Today, we’re unveiling an exclusive, behind-the-curtain look at “Disney Hercules” rehearsals, plus an all-new rendering of the stage show.

After the Cast completes rehearsals in Toronto, they will travel to Germany to begin preparations to perform in the Walt Disney Theatre for the first time this November.

Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots have made their way onto the Disney Destiny! Earlier this week, the shipyard team installed the first-ever Marvel stern character in Disney Cruise Line history, using cranes to hoist the larger-than-life sculpture up and securely bolt it to the back of the ship. 

The figure depicts Spider-Man swooping into action as he teams up with three Spider-Bots to add the finishing touches to the ship’s geometric filigree. The sharp edges and crisscrossing designs in the filigree are a playful nod to Spider-Man’s web-slinging skills. The Spider-Bots are equipped with yellow-dipped paintbrushes and some must-have cruise accessories, including sunglasses and a snorkel mask. 

When guests arrive at the Disney Destiny’s home port in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. later this year, the stern character will be their first glimpse into the magic that awaits aboard the ship, setting the scene for an adventure full of experiences inspired by legendary Disney heroes and villains. 

For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature stern character on the Disney Destiny, a hallmark design feature that represents each ship’s unique theme and personality. Now in its final stages of completion, this larger-than-life sculpture will eventually be installed among the filigree on the back of the ship, showcasing Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots attempting to assist with decorating the stern. 

Like its sister ships, the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, a fan-favorite focal point of the Disney Destiny’s staterooms will be the oversized custom art piece mounted in place of a headboard above the main bed. Inspired by the ship’s theme of “heroes and villains,” these murals will depict the alluring duality and epic journeys of famous Disney and Pixar legends, such as Hercules, Mulan and Merida — the designs for which were revealed today for the first time. 

Walt Disney Imagineering has dreamed up two incredible statues destined for Edna Á La Mode Sweets, an all-new confectionary inspired by Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Incredibles.”

Taking cues from the “Auntie Edna” short film, the statues showcase Edna Mode — fashion designer for the world’s most famous Supers — hard at work while attempting to entertain the unpredictable super baby Jack-Jack with sweet treats. 

Imagineers partnered with Pixar Animation Studios to create the sculptures, from sketch to digital model to reality. When finished, they’ll be transported to the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany for installation and finally prepared for the sweetest of photo ops aboard the Disney Destiny. 

A defining trait of every Disney Cruise Line ship is the signature character statue that welcomes guests as soon as they step on board. For the first time ever, the Disney Destiny will feature a Marvel Super Hero in this place of honor: T’Challa, the original Black Panther. 

Walt Disney Imagineering is currently putting the finishing touches on this stunning depiction of T’Challa standing strong atop a jut of rock, the feline form of a black panther at his feet. To set this bronze statue apart, Imagineers designed a textured black finish with silver and purple accents that infuse the sculpture with a sense of life, capturing the power and grace of the King of Wakanda. Check out this video on Instagram for a first look! 

This one-of-a-kind statue will ultimately take its place in the Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall, beckoning cruisers into a brand-new world of heroes and villains … and legendary vacation memories.

Last week, the Disney Destiny completed another exciting construction milestone at Meyer Werft Shipyard when it touched water for the first time. The process, known as “float up,” began by flooding the building dock with water from the Ems River in order to lift the Disney Destiny from the floor of the chamber. The ship was then guided to another position in the hall, where the team will begin testing different systems onboard, including the main engines. In the coming months, the shipyard team will continue to focus on building out the legendary interior spaces coming to the Disney Destiny.

Today, we are bringing you a first look at this ship’s progress and are excited to share that the final blocks (i.e. sections of the ship) were put into place in late 2024. That’s right – with the last piece of the ship in place, the ship’s exterior is now structurally complete and outfitting work has begun on the interior. Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

Those attending one of the separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party nights should prepare for a spellbinding celebration brimming with devilish delights. As the moon rises and the haunting hours begin, guests can head over to Award Wieners for the new Chili-Cheese Fries—or cruise over to Flo’s V8 Cafe for returning favorites available only during this after-hours party, like the Carolina Loaded Tenders and Loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries. Guests over the age of 21 can also sip on the new Ube Hot Chocolate with Vanilla Vodka, available at Cozy Cone Motel 1 – Churros.

For those who want to bring a wicked piece of the festivities home, the Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor Sipper is available at various locations throughout Disney California Adventure Park only during the event. For guests craving some extra treats with their tricks, The Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party offers a delicious spread of desserts, along with unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Plus, this spellbinding enhancement includes access to the preferred viewing area for the “Frightfully Fun Parade.”

Tickets are still available to attend Oogie Boogie Base on select nights beginning in August, so guests don’t have to miss out on any of these hauntingly good eats! Between sampling treats available only at these after-hours events, they can encounter rare villains and collect candy in immersive Treat Trails, creep through Villains Grove and even enjoy attractions with shorter wait times.

Each year, the Disneyland Resort transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland, where joy and tradition come to life around every corner. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, the upbeat Disney Festival of Holidays and Disney ¡Viva Navidad! return on Nov. 14, 2025, and continue through Jan. 7, 2026. Guests dreaming of dazzling shows, ornate décor and unforgettable experiences that stir the senses and warm the heart are in for a treat 

During the holiday season, some Disneyland Resort 70^th Celebration entertainment will continue to sparkle, so we hope guests will celebrate the happiness we make together all season long. And they better not pout — Santa often stops around the resort to listen to their Christmas wishes, making appearances at both theme parks and the three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.

Holidays at Disneyland Park

As guests stroll into Disneyland park, they may spot Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and some of their friends in sparkling new outfits. These designs are a “holiday spin” on their clothing from the 70^th Celebration. Shimmering greens, reds and golds steal the show, with 70^th nods throughout.

While snow is very rare in Southern California, magical “snowfall” drifts down each night during Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, where 80,000 shimmering lights transform the castle into a snowy, sparkling wonder. Don’t miss the breathtaking “Believe...In Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular, with flurries gliding along Main Street, U.S.A., near “it’s a small world” Holiday and the Rivers of America.

Guests can also enjoy “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” where beloved Disney characters, toy soldiers and dancing gingerbread cookies make their way down Main Street, U.S.A., in a warm celebration of the season.

For a terrific view, guests can post up near “it’s a small world” Holiday, along the parade route next to the Matterhorn Bobsleds or Main Street, U.S.A. Reserved viewing for the parade is included when they book the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour.

Guests may also choose to immerse themselves in the magic of the season through attraction overlays, like the whimsical winter makeover of “it’s a small world” Holiday and the merrily macabre Haunted Mansion Holiday.

“Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends!” returns to the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland park to spread holiday cheer. Guests can engage in craft-making, sing-alongs to beloved holiday classics and magical photo opportunities with select Disney characters and Santa himself.

Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park

At Disney California Adventure park, friends in Cars Land really step on the gas when it comes to getting merry! Guests can park themselves amid the colorful lights, wreaths, bows and Christmas-y cones right before sunset for a neon-lit “Sh-Boom” transition from day to night. 

Winter in Radiator Springs is especially fun when guests ride Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl in his decked-out backyard and hear tow-riffic original lyrics to holiday classics on Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. Things sure do shine up nice ‘round these parts!

Guests needing to refuel their tanks can try the new Jerry’s Junk Truck Cone from Cozy Cone Motel.

Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park

Disney Festival of Holidays returns to Disney California Adventure park Nov. 14, 2025, through Jan. 7, 2026. This festival is bursting with color, culture and cheer — showcasing a diverse season of celebrations through delicious food, a daily rotation of live entertainment and unique merchandise.

Festive Food Marketplaces will be sprinkled in different areas of the park, where new and returning bites and beverages await, such as the fan-favorite braised pork belly adobo. 

Guests can purchase a Sip and Savor Pass* to taste their way through the festivities at participating locations for the ultimate foodie experience. These passes include six digital coupons that can be redeemed for select food and nonalcoholic beverages around Disney California Adventure park. Read the Sip and Savor Pass guide to learn more.

The streets of Disney California Adventure park come alive with a blend of joyful music, dancing and cultural performances. Guests may spot a group of Holiday Toy Drummers marching to merry rhythms or the “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” cavalcade featuring both Disney and Pixar characters. 

Also on select days, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” and her friends recount stories and perform hit songs from the film in the street performance, “Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season.” Mirabel is also among the characters rotating at the Paradise Gardens Park gazebo, sharing holiday greetings and posing for photo opportunities.

On select days at Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street, guests should keep an eye out for “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” as they perform bilingual renditions of favorite holiday songs. Toward the end, they may spot Miguel from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco.”  

Celebrate Culture and Familia at Disney ¡Viva Navidad!

Guests can head to Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure for the return of Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, a heartwarming celebration inspired by Latin American holiday traditions — with a spirited Disney twist! Delight in live music, crafts, festive décor, flavorful dishes and appearances by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and The Three Caballeros. 

On select days, the “Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party” lights up the area with folklórico dancers, mariachis, samba performers and more, led by The Three Caballeros in a vibrant display of rhythm and color.

Holiday Cheer at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort

The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be brimming with holiday cheer and decked out with seasonal decor. Guests can look forward to specialty dining, carolers and an encounter with Santa!

Guests will have several festive character dining options to choose from this holiday season, including a brand-new character dinner experience called Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party at Storytellers Cafe for breakfast and brunch, where Daisy Duck and Donald Duck join the character lineup. Guests can also make memories at Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays! at the Disneyland Hotel or partake in Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hearthstone Lounge at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Guests can get into the spirit with a returning holiday-themed beverage menu at Broken Spell Lounge in the Disneyland Hotel, featuring creative twists on classics like hot chocolate and eggnog, paired with live jazz music on select days.

If relaxation is on guests' wish lists, they should try the Underneath the Tree signature massage or the Joy of Holiday body treatment at Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Downtown Disney District for the Holidays

The Downtown Disney District transforms into a festive wonderland during the holiday season, brimming with seasonal flavors, sounds and sights, including a beautiful nightly “snowfall” pictured above.

Guests can stroll through twinkling lights and wintery décor, while enjoying the joyful sounds of live music at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. Along the way, they can discover a sleigh-ful of merry food and beverage offerings, from sweet treats to cozy seasonal sips, available at participating locations.

Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail returns this year, inviting guests to search for special ornaments hanging from trees throughout the Downtown Disney District. They can purchase an activity map from a participating retail location, embark on their search, and exchange the map at a redemption location to receive a keepsake.

2025 Holiday Merchandise and Food and Beverage

Of course, guests will want to check out the new lines of holiday merchandise available at Elias & Co., Emporium, World of Disney and other select shopping destinations.

The festive color palette and Santa Mickey artwork on this year’s Mickey Mouse Family Christmas Collection brings the magic of Christmas to life with nostalgic and whimsical storytelling. The range of apparel, accessories, home décor and more make great souvenirs or holiday gifts for loved ones. 

And guests shouldn't forget about the dozens of limited-time, holiday-themed food and beverages throughout the Disneyland Resort, such as the returning peppermint cold brew and Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookie. 

Once-in-a-Lifetime Lineup with the Disneyland Resort 70^th Celebration

Select entertainment from the 70^th Celebration will continue during the holiday season, so guests will still be able to enjoy the “World of Color Happiness!” nighttime spectacular and “Tapestry of Happiness” projections. “Paint the Night” parade and other entertainment experiences will pause temporarily during the holiday season and resume at a later date.

Areas and attractions around the resort will retain special touches, including decorative accents and the colorful castle photo opportunity in the esplanade. Interactive MagicBand+ locations and the Key to Disneyland lock stations will remain available through the season.
