Your clients' favorite characters are ready for adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park!

Here are insider tips for how they can find rare characters and experiences exclusive to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park!

How to Find Characters in the My Disney Experience App

Characters are easy to locate with the My Disney Experience app!

Just Follow These Simple Steps:

  • Click on the map pin at the bottom of the screen.
  • Swipe left at the top of the screen and choose Characters.
  • Click on Locations to select the desired theme park.
  • Find characters on the map or choose Show List at the bottom right.
  • By clicking on a character, guests can view the location and times the selected character will appear throughout the day.

Disney Character Experiences Exclusive to Animal Kingdom Theme Park

The Lion King Characters are Ready to Greet Guests at the Oasis

Guests might run into a wise mandrill or a certain meerkat who loves to hula. Rafiki is ready to show guests the way, and when he takes a break for his meditations, Timon steps in to keep the fun going. Guests might even be able to convince him to do a dance! Both characters begin greeting guests about an hour after park opening most days and rotate every 30 minutes.

Pocahontas is Just Around the Riverbend in the Oasis

For one the most unique character greetings at Walt Disney World Resort, head to the right when entering the Oasis. Just before the bridge to Discovery Island, guests will find Pocahontas in a beautiful, natural setting that feels perfect for her adventurous spirit.

Zootopia Characters are on Duty on Discovery Island

Officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are on the case! Hop on over to The Gathering Spot near the Tree of Life just outside Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

It turns out Zootopia’s busiest crime-fighting duo are also some of the most popular characters at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Guests will want to make sure they plan ahead for a visit with them. Since this is a popular meet and greet, allow some extra time.

Up Characters are Out for Adventure on Discovery Island

While your client is out on an adventure on the Discovery Trails, they might find Russell exploring the trails. His surprise visits don’t always appear in the My Disney Experience app, which means guests will have to be a true Wilderness Explorer to find him.

This is one of the hidden gems, so be on the lookout! For the best chance, enter the Discovery Trails to the left of the Tree of Life just before the bridge to Africa. Guests will also never know when they might see Kevin or Dug roaming around Discovery Island. Kevin’s vibrant colors are hard to miss and be sure to tell your clients to ask Dug if he’s seen any squirrels. With his special voice box, he just might talk to your client.

Ready, Set, Play! Join Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom

While this isn’t a traditional character greeting, it is a one-of-a-kind play experience with Bluey and Bingo at Conservation Station. Hop on the Wildlife Express at Harambe Station near the exit to Kilimanjaro Safaris. Guests can dance with Bluey and Bingo and play games like Magic Asparagus, Keepy Uppy, and the Octopus Game.

Disney Characters with Unique Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Outfits

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is the only place your client will be able to see Mickey Mouse and his pals dressed for adventure. Guests can start their day with Donald Duck and Daisy Duck who are dressed for a safari on the Oasis.

After entering the park, guests can head to the right toward Garden Gate Gifts to find them. Guests should be sure to stop by and say hello to Mickey and Minnie who are also donning khakis and their safari hats. Guests will find them at Adventurers Outpost near the bridge to Asia.

As your client makes their way further into the park, they can turn right after they enter Asia and be on the lookout for Goofy and Pluto. If your client loves character photos, they won’t want to miss these unique safari outfits starring Mickey and all of his adventurous pals.

Deck the (Grand) Hall! Go ahead and trim the (palm) trees! It’s time for the most wonderful voyage of the year.

If your client is already dreaming of making waves, and their holiday list includes things like “more days at sea,” then, oh does Disney Cruise Line have the itineraries for them. It’s never too early to get into the spirit of the season and book a Very Merrytime cruise for your client and their loved ones this year.

2be39b35-ccdf-42df-a9a7-dda5cb063e4e.png

A Very Merrytime sailing differs from a sailing during any other time of the year because, first of all, way more Christmas trees , along with festive holiday décor, holiday-themed entertainment, Mickey Mouse and the gang wearing their holiday best, and sweets that will be dancing in your clients head as they drift off to sleep after a sea day.

It’s always a rush to enter the atrium or Grand Hall, but now imagine your client doing so and being immediately greeted by one of the most marvelous Christmas trees they’ve ever seen, and a pretty epic gingerbread house, too.

Your client deserves a Halfway to the Holidays treat, and now’s the perfect time to start looking at dates: Very Merrytime cruises start sailing in November and run through the end of the year. Whether this is a bucket-list item for your client or just a way to get their whole family together on one ship, this is why your client will want this vacation neatly packaged under the tree.

What is a Very Merrytime Cruise?

A Very Merrytime Cruise is Disney Cruise Line’s way of bringing the joy and warmth of the holiday season to the high seas. The ships are transformed into a festive celebration filled with sparkling décor, seasonal entertainment, and magical touches around every corner.

Available on select itineraries, guests can find ships sailing from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Galveston, Texas; and San Diego, California.

What’s Included on a Very Merrytime Cruise?

First of all, magic. That’s what your client will find on every Very Merrytime cruise. Just stern-to-bow magic.

Very Merrytime cruises include everything guests know and love about a Disney cruise. They're going to get your nightly themed rotational dining, along with Broadway-style shows in the Walt Disney Theatre, plus a pool deck that has fun for all ages. Endless hot chocolate, and all the beloved soft-serve ice cream your client can enjoy to their festive heart’s content is also included. And that’s just the start – Very Merrytime sailings add even more included comfort and joy including special deck parties, themed activities and crafts and a chance to meet the “big guy” himself.

The Very Merrytime cruises have dialed the holiday magic up to a solid 25, as the ships are fully decked out (no pun intended) with Christmas trees and decorations, characters in their merry best, and specialty snacks, food, and drinks throughout the voyage.

Mickey & Minnie’s Merrytime Tree Lighting

Gather round for a heartwarming, traditional celebration where Mickey Mouse and friends help light the ship’s holiday tree. It’s one of those quintessential Very Merrytime moments—equal parts cozy and spectacular—that sets the tone for the entire sailing.

Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party

Join Disney friends on the upper decks for good tidings, music and cheer as guests celebrate friendship, love, and family during this special time of year. Expect a lively atmosphere, festive décor, and a high-energy celebration.

Themed Activities and Crafts for Kids

Have some festive fun and get creative with Christmas cheer for the young and young-at-heart. Throughout the sailing, families can drop into holiday-themed activities that add a hands-on, memory-making element to all the magic happening around the ship.

How to Make the Most of Very Merrytime

Everyone has different holiday traditions, and it might be time to blend the old with the new on a sailing. What new memories will your client create?

There are plenty of picture spots where guests can take next year’s holiday card. Or, if just sippin’ on hot cocoa and chatting it up with grandma is more your client's thing, there are plenty of cozy nooks to get comfortable. And if guests want to see the big guy in red, Santa makes frequent stops onboard.

One of the best ways to get ready for a Very Merrytime cruise is simply to familiarize your clients with the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app ahead of time, so when they're onboard, they don’t miss a second of the magic. They will also be able to see additional services available (like recreation and the spa) if that’s a key factor of your clients trip.

If your client is ready to set sail, sleigh on over to Disney Cruise Line!

Disney Animation-Inspired Experience Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney Animation artists and Walt Disney Imagineers are working hand-in-hand to bring the wonder and nostalgia of Disney Animation films to The Magic of Disney Animation in new and immersive ways families will love. We can’t wait for guests to experience this fantastical place, starting on September 14, 2026.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios lot in Burbank, California, is a place of pure magic – artists go in… beloved characters and films come out. Now, imagine exploring that campus and seeing Disney Animation characters leap off the screen and into our world.

That was the heart and premise of the Emmy Award-winning short film, Once Upon A Studio, and it inspired the reimagined Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Drawing from the architecture and atmosphere of the legendary Walt Disney Studios lot, the updated area features iconic details, like Pluto’s Corner, within a relaxed park-like setting designed for families to enjoy together…and some favorite characters are ready to play.

The Walt Disney Studios Lot Comes to Life at Hollywood Studios

The reimagined courtyard is the perfect place for families to play, relax, or snack on tasty treats under lush trees.

Animation fans of all ages won’t want to miss exploring the area as there are character surprises and thoughtful details hidden throughout. Guests never know who they might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun, or digging in the grass.

Join The Fun at Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!

This area is still packed with lively entertainment within the neighboring theaters and soundstages, including the Studio Theater, which continues to house “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” and a nearby soundstage featuring “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!”

Now open, the Clubhouse is calling, and guests on the guest list! Inspired by Disney Jr.’s hit series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, this live show turns into a feel-good celebration where guests don’t just watch the fun… they help make it happen.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are ready to kick off the big bash, but when their friends are nowhere to be found, the party turns into a playful search mission. With music leading the way, guests will clap, cheer, and dance along as the adventure unfolds — and before guests know it, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Pluto join in to bring the Clubhouse celebration to life.

New Adventures Under the Sorcerer Hat

In the center of this reimagined courtyard, a building inspired by the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building will soon be home to The Magic of Disney Animation, a brand-new collection of experiences opening later this summer. Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat even sits on top of the building (just like the real building in California).

Inside, guests will interact with and explore new takes on the iconic Disney Animation headquarters, including the many different studio departments. Only this time, some of our favorite pals have taken over to create the fun adventures.

Playful and interactive moments will be around every corner. Guests can see portraits come to life before guests eyes just like they did in Once Upon A Studio, and guests can even pencil in some time to learn how to draw their very own character sketch. It will be a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore, bringing the wonder of animation to life like never before.

The collection of experiences includes:

  • “Drawn to Wonderland”
  • “Off the Page!”
  • “Olaf Draws!”
  • Once Upon A Studio Theater
  • And more…

If your clients are visual people, here’s a playful graphic that shows the variety of ways guests can experience the creativity and wonder of animation throughout The Magic of Disney Animation.

A Wonderland Made to Explore

Younger animators-to-be can step into the whimsical world of “Drawn to Wonderland,” an immersive indoor playground inspired by the original Alice in Wonderland concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair. From the playful chaos of the Mad Tea Party and Mad Hatter’s house to the Queen of Hearts’ vibrant rose garden and the Cheshire Cat’s mysterious Tulgey Wood, every corner invites young guests to explore, move, and let their imaginations run wild.

“Drawn to Wonderland” comes to life through bold colors, whimsical shapes, and Blair’s unmistakable artistic style. Designed especially for little ones, the space offers families a fun, energetic place to play and recharge while remaining fully immersed in Disney storytelling.

Chosen for its spirit of curiosity, imagination, and discovery, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland naturally lends itself to an environment built for exploration through active play. Younger guests will love climbing, wandering, and creating their own adventure around every corner of this new playground.

Explore “Off the Page!” and Spot Favorite Friends

Guests will also be able to venture into “Off the Page!” – a stunning area where they can meet some of their favorite friends from Walt Disney Animation Studios stories while celebrating the artistry behind every frame.

Each space offers incredible photo opportunities with favorite characters. Guests can meet Mulan in the Story department, posing in front of an oversized storyboard panel. Or step into the Layout department where Rapunzel waits in a setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera where guests will see layers of backgrounds and painted cells come together like magic.

4dcac410-7cbf-4b16-b317-fcf09d6a543b.png

Together, these spaces highlight key stages of the animation process, each brought to life through character encounters. Some of characters guests may spot are:

  • Mulan in Story
  • Rapunzel in Layout
  • Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation
  • Donald and Daisy in CG Animation
  • Goofy in Lighting
  • Stitch in Effects

Every corner of “Off the Page!” is designed to immerse guests in the craft of animation, as this experience is a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Dan Abraham, Walt Disney Animation Studios Director and co-director of the Once Upon a Studio short, says he can’t wait to see what guests dream up after visiting the space.

“It’s so cool because you’re waiting in line to have fun with the characters… and you’re getting to see a bit of history of the studio as well,” Abraham said. “It could very well inspire people to move our studio into the future when they [join Walt Disney Animation Studios] and carry on this legacy that has meant so much to so many people.”

Learn to Draw with Olaf!

Step into a new attraction with “Olaf Draws!” where everyone’s favorite snowman takes center stage as a cheerful companion, bringing guests along to learn character drawing from some of the biggest names in Disney animation.

f5aa3260-4a5e-436d-bccc-b671a2dd6bb4.jpg

Brought to life as an all-new Audio-Animatronics figure, Olaf welcomes guests into a space inspired by one of his most memorable moments from Once Upon A Studio sitting at an animator’s desk, joyfully discovering the art of drawing.

Guests will go step-by-step through the creative process, guided by Disney Animation artists through recorded tips, techniques, and stories from inside the studio. Add in Olaf’s playful humor, and it becomes a fun, laugh-filled experience that leaves guests feeling inspired.

7fc0af5f-52b9-4321-99fc-cd755e2dd93b.png

Classes will feature characters from both timeless classics and modern favorites. You may find yourself sketching:

  • Mickey Mouse, with Dan Abraham, director (Once Upon A Studio, Baymax!)
  • Minnie Mouse, with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog)
  • Donald Duck, with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2)
  • Genie, with Eric Goldberg, animator (Aladdin, Hercules)
  • Moana, with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2)
  • Stitch, with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon)
  • Olaf, with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3)
  • Ursula, with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto)
  • Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, with Byron Howard, director (Zootopia, Zootopia 2)

The happy snowman’s spirit of curiosity and encouragement is what inspired Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf, as he recorded original dialogue for the experience while also considering what it might spark in young artists.

“I’m so thrilled that a whole new generation of kids can dream of becoming animators one day and can actually begin their journey right there on the studio lot,” Gad shared, underscoring how “Olaf Draws!” turns imagination into possibility.

Once Upon A Studio Theater and More

In the Once Upon A Studio Theater, guests can enjoy the Emmy Award-winning short film that inspired it all, Once Upon A Studio. Inside this dedicated theater honoring more than a century of Disney Animation storytelling, enhanced effects add an extra layer of magic.

As guests enjoy the film, they may spot characters popping up within the artwork along the theater walls, placing them right in the middle of this enchanting story.

Guests can also discover an enchanted art gallery, a beautifully curated space filled with artwork featuring beloved Disney Animation characters. At first glance, it feels like a traditional gallery, but with a little pixie dust, some favorite characters may spring to life in all-new animations created exclusively for this experience!

There is something special about escaping to the great outdoors without ever leaving the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.

Nestled on 750 acres of pine and cypress forest, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground feels like a destination all its own. From peaceful mornings surrounded by nature to evenings spent gathered around a crackling campfire, every stay offers a chance to slow down, explore, and create a Disney vacation that feels a little different from anywhere else.

Now, there are even more ways to enjoy a day at the resort, with an expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area and a recently refreshed Reception Outpost that makes arriving at this beloved retreat feel smoother and more welcoming than ever.

Make a Splash at the Expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Area

The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool has always been a favorite place to cool off between adventures, and the recently expanded area makes room for even more fun and relaxation.

A new zero-entry pool and additional deck space have been added alongside the existing pool, effectively doubling the space for all to enjoy. Whether guests prefer a relaxing swim, kicking back poolside, or heading straight for the 67-foot corkscrew waterslide, there are plenty of ways to make the most of a sunny resort day.

The rustic setting also includes a special nod to a piece of Walt Disney World history. Keep an eye out for an old-fashioned barrel carriage featuring Mickey Mouse in his camping gear and a tribute to Disney’s River Country, the original Walt Disney World water park that once welcomed guests next door to Fort Wilderness.

A Refreshed Welcome at the Reception Outpost

The resort experience begins from the moment guests arrive, and recent updates at the Reception Outpost help make that first welcome feel even more seamless and personal.

The refreshed space allows cast members to connect with guests as they arrive and help families get settled before heading out to explore everything Fort Wilderness has to offer.

Above the fireplace, new artwork adds a playful layer of Disney storytelling to the entry area, featuring Mickey Mouse and friends enjoying outdoor adventures along the water in a scene that feels right at home in the resort’s rustic setting.

As guests look up, they will also spot three playful scenes featuring Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, enjoying some of the activities that make a Fort Wilderness stay so memorable, like archery, fishing, and camping beneath the trees.

Feeling adventurous? Start the morning with a horseback ride along serene woodland trails, grab a paddle and explore the waterways by canoe, take in the scenery during Wilderness Back Trail Adventure or try the Fort Wilderness Archery Experience.

There are also plenty of simple ways to enjoy the natural scenery, whether cruising around the resort on a golf cart, hopping on a bike or taking a relaxing walk beneath the pine trees.
